On January 30, 2025 we said a final goodbye to our beloved Rivita.  She was six months shy of her 30th birthday.  She will be forever loved and missed, but her legacy lives on at KFX Farms.

update:  rivita has been retired

After several years of being a wonderful broodmare, we decided it was time for Rivita to live out her senior years retired on our farm. She will be able to help the weanlings adjust to life without Mom when the time comes.  We love this mare and are thankful to Don and Dee Kapper of Outer Banks Farms, LLC for allowing us to own such a wonderful mare!!

SPS Komtess V aka Rivita: (Riverman x Flora I/Carolus)
Rivita is a States Premium, Holsteiner mare who is also approved Hanoverian and ISR/Oldenburg NA.   She is16.3h and bears the world proven influence of Landego, Calypso II, Landgraf I and Cor de la Bryere. She was imported from Germany and before joining us at KFX Farms, was owned by Hilltop farm and then by Don and Dee Kapper of Outer Banks Farms. We thank Don and Dee Kapper for making the opportunity available to us, to add a mare of Rivita’s quality into our broodmare band. 

Rivita (Riverman – Carolus) has been one of Hilltop Farm’s best producers, including many Site Champion foals.  Rivita herself is an overall ‘8’ mare with the AHS.  She earned 9’s & 10’s on her jumping at her Holsteiner approvals in Germany.  She was the 1999 Reserve Grand Champion of Dressage at Devon and was a successful competitor through Third Level.

Here are a few of Rivita’s earned credentials: 

1) 1999 Reserve Grand Champion Dressage at Devon 
2) Shown successfully through Third Level
3) Champion of her approval in Germany, earning 10's for jumping ability and technique and 9's for her movement, both Rivita and her dam, Flora, are States Premium mares.
4) Overall '8' mare with AHS - including 9's on head and impulsion/elasticity
5) Premium Mare w/ ISR/Oldenburg - 108 points
6) At Dressage At Devon in 2008, Rivita won the Produce of Dam class and her offspring won both of the Hanoverian IBC classes, Conturri, for 3 & over, and Constantine, for 2 & under.  Both Conturri and Constantine are sired by Contucci and are being retained by Hilltop Farm for showing and breeding.    

Rivita’s sire is Riverman (Redfort – Landego – Calypso II), a Grey, 16.2 ½ hand Holsteiner.
Not only are Riverman offspring athletes, but they share their sire’s beautiful type as well.  Countless premium award’s, breed show championships and Champion Mare results belong to Riverman offspring. 

Rivita’s dam is Flora I (Carolus - Coniolan - Aldato) a States Premium Holsteiner mare.
All of Flora I’s offspring were Premium. 
Flora I is sired by Carolus, an international level show jumper, whose dam Lacq also competed through S level.  Lacq has Ramzes, Ladykiller, and Anblick in her pedigree.
Flora I is out of Warpa (Coriolan/Aldato).  Coriolan also competed in jumping through S level, but was noted as well for his loose and light-footed movement and a large, uphill canter.  He is well known as the sire of Coriander, a Grand Prix dressage stallion under Wolfgang Schade. 

Riverman

Rivita's sire, Riverman, was the Reserve Champion of his Holsteiner stallion licensing. Riverman stood as a Verband stallion for three years, producing high percentages of premium offspring. After these foal crops, Riverman placed 2nd in the 2000 German FN’s Jumping Index and 3rd in the Overall Index for stallions of his age group, due to the success of his offspring in both dressage and jumping competition.

Carolus i

Rivita's Dam Sire, Carolus (Capital x Roman/Ladykiller) is the sire of 14 proven stallions and over 300 registered broodmares including the international show jumper Clinton I ridden by Thomas Voss and the 2004 Olympic attendand C. Chip ridden by Soon-Won Hwang of Korea.
